Week 46 ~ Turkey Trot 2011

My friend Melissa and I woke up early Thanksgiving Day morning to start a new tradition,  to do the 5k known as the Turkey Trot @ the Chesterfield Amphitheater . It was the 12th Annual race, raising money for St Luke's hospital, the energy was invigorating! 

Next year we are bringing our turkey hats!!

I fell in love with this really cool sculpture at the park.

 Our Fleet Feet time was actually 48:33, our time is improving with each 5k!

 My hubby and I are dying for a Golden Retriever, I snapped this shot of my new friend right before he jumped up and gave me a kiss, I know it's a bit blurry but I just love it.

Week 45 ~ Phone Fun

OK so admittedly I slacked this week on taking photos. It's not like me to only pick up my camera once a week but I wasn't motivated to shoot at all this week, weird I know. Anyway, I have taken several camera phone pics over the last year and these are a few of my favorites:

Week 44 ~ Roses are Red...

 The Rose is one of my favorite flowers, the Nan Elliot Memorial Rose Garden in Alton, IL is a lovely place to visit. A man very much in love with his wife donated the funds for this 1 acre rose garden in her memory. The garden contains more than 1600 rose bushes, a gazebo, and a carillon.  My husband and I were married there three years ago, the roses were in bloom and the carillon echoed as we said our vows. I had the pleasure of snapping a few shots of a few of my favorite people there today ~ The Flatt Family!

Week 43 ~ Lindsay Marie Designs

I love jewelry, especially hand made/vintage! I met Lindsay Marie @ the Festival of Little Hills in St Charles over the summer and bought 2 simple pairs of earrings, since then I have been stalking her Etsy site for more goodies. She makes her jewelry from the semi-precious stones she gets around the world and takes great pride in putting each piece together, it really does show. So..
